The EPA offers free vapor testing at the Beardsley site.
The EPA provides an interactive map that provides vapor intrusion information for pollution migration from North Main Wellfield, Walter Piano, and Lusher. As a resident, you can insert your address in the search bar to see if your home is vulnerable to Volatile Organic Compound vapor intrusion. However, there is pollution migration impacting residential homes from additional sites that are not included in this interactive map, so a green indicator does not necessarily mean that your home is free from risk.
If you are concerned about vapor intrusion inside your home, you may find these resources helpful:
- The EPA Vapor Intrusion Guide provides residents with basic information about where and when vapor intrusion may be a potential concern.
- The American Lung Association and the EPA discuss the health impacts of Volatile Organic Compounds in this Indoor Air Pollution Guide for health professionals.
- The EPA Indoor Air Vapor Intrusion Mitigation Approaches Guide describes the range of indoor air vapor intrusion mitigation technologies that are available and offers residents information on selecting appropriate technologies in consultation with qualified engineering and risk management professionals.
